Bio
Since 2006, I have developed creative strategies for startups, scaling companies, mid-size corporations, non-profit organizations, and Fortune 100s. Companies rely on my keen insights, strategic questions, and confident directives to define and refine their brand strategy and product design. A natural systems thinker, I’m passionate about blending efficiency and creativity, bringing design principles to businesses to help them pinpoint their value and focus their energy on what matters most.
I spent the first few years of my career as an independent graphic designer, working primarily on printed collateral, digital illustration and identity design. I built my own client list from word-of-mouth referrals.
Launched Kari K Design. Focused on brand strategy and design for small businesses and startups.
Grew my business into an interdisciplinary creative agency called Plot Creative Studio. Moved to Seattle to be closer to tech startups and healthcare companies.
After supporting startups from the outside as an agency owner for nearly ten years, I transitioned to working in-house. I’ve been hired by multiple scaling startups to establish their design teams and define their collaborative process.
